The Field Research and Consultation Group (Field Group or FRCG) serves the occupational safety and health needs of the State of Washington. Our services to workplaces are provided without charge to promote worker health and safety.

The Field Group is part of the University of Washington's Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences in the School of Public Health.

The Field Group provides information, on-site evaluation of health and safety issues in the workplace, and consultation on strategies to reduce occupational hazards. We also provide learning experiences and research opportunities to UW Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences students. The Field Group has no regulatory authority.

Video Above: The University of Washington School of Public Health helps businesses keep their employees safe in the workplace. Allison Crollard, an industrial hygienist from the Field Research and Consultation Group in the Dept. of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences, measures worker exposure to a chemical used in the paint sprayed on aerospace parts.
